Hello again! It's been a while... I haven't been on Blogger for soo long and realized today that all my photos are gone/broken... :( I'll work on fixing these, or maybe I'll just start a new blog...or both? I haven't decided yet. But in the meantime, here's a photo from PMX last weekend! I did gyaru style makeup these are a couple of the photos a photographer friend took! I love them so much. ;w; Hope you'll enjoy too~

Julep Kylie

2 coats of Kylie with 1 coat of Essie's Good to Go topcoat

Showing off the magnet that comes with the nail varnish.

Oh and I'll include this section for those of you like me with no prior experience with magnetic polishes ahaha;;;
How-to: applying a magnetic polish like Kylie!
0. To prep your nails, apply a base coat (optional)
1. Apply one (1) coat of Kylie and let dry
2. Apply second coat of Kylie to ONE NAIL ONLY!
3. Immediately after, hold the magnet as close as possible to your nail without touching the nail
4. Keep holding for 10-15 seconds....
4.5. Admire your pretty nail for a while :)
5. Repeat steps 2-4 for your other nails
6. Allow your nails to dry fully
7. Apply a top coat (optional) and you're finished!

Color - ♥ ♥ ♥  ♡ - Kylie is a nice, slightly muted and almost berryish color. I like it and it goes well with my skintone!
Formula - ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥  - The formula is thick and looks good even with one coat! But, for the magnetic effect, you do need that 2nd coat.
Smoothness - ♥ ♥ ♥   - You can probably tell from the photos but it's SO SMOOTH! I loves it.
Price - ♥ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ - At $14 full price, I wouldn't buy it. But again, definitely worth one penny, or the $4.99 I paid to get it as an add-on to my May box!

Overall - ♥ ♥ ♥  ♡ - I really like this polish! I just wish I didn't get a janky brush with this one and that the magnetic stripes would come out straighter than wavy like how it is...

I was really amused, because I got this as an add-on to my May Julep Maven box, but it arrived a day before my actual box did! It even shipped out later...

The brush that came with this polish was really weird... It was all flared out and just looked bad. :( I heard that almost everyone's May box had at least one polish with a messed up brush. Bummer! But, I also heard that we can contact customer service and be sent some replacement brushes, so I am glad for that. The formula for Kylie was good enough that I could still apply the polish without the brush affecting the end result too much though. :)

[[[Update!!!!]]] --------------
I emailed Julep customer service about the brush issue and got an email reply (same day!!) saying they would be sending me replacement brushes soon, and will be giving me a tracking number when that happens. Seems like it happened to almost everyone for the May boxes. Julep really has the best customer service!
---------------------|

More about the May box later when I do a proper post for it! I'm waiting to film another video before I try everything fully~

Remember, you can still take advantage of the penny deal for your intro box to Julep Maven if you haven't already!

Julep Blake

2 coats of Blake

I'm not sure this color goes too well with my skin tone, haha.. but the formula is excellent!

Color - ♥ ♥   ♡ - I think the color is nice, just not on me.
Formula - ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ - The formula is quite thick, but probably needs 2 coats to look even. Or maybe if the first coat is thickly applied. Otherwise, it's nice and feels pretty scratch/chip resistant.
Smoothness - ♥ ♥ ♥   - It's easy to tell where I didn't properly cover up the first coat with the second...
Price - ♥ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ - At $14 full price, not worth it. But definitely worth my one penny. ;)

Overall - ♥ ♥ ♥  ♡ - I didn't like the polish as much as I thought I would, especially because I loved the grey one.

Gonna go back and do the same rating for Meryl now!

24/7 Liner in Junkie, DermStore Lip Quench, All-Belle lashes, and 2 MyGlam brushes.

Julep replacement package!!!

Cutest packaging ever.

Free Julep emery board that will definitely come in handy.

My Julep polishes!!! In Meryl (grey) and Blake (pastel yellow).

Glycolic hand scrub that will apparently make my hands appear younger haha.

A swatch of Meryl (2 coats). I quite like it!

Color - ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ - I am in love with this color. My new favorite neutral.
Formula - ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ - The formula is needs 2+ coats to look even, but after it's fully dried, it's incredibly chip-resistant. Went for about 3-4 days without any chipping, even at the tips.
Smoothness - ♥ ♥ ♥   - Very smooth and shiny, but still not completely opaque throughout in places.
Price - ♥ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ - At $14 full price, not worth it. But definitely worth my one penny. ;)

Overall - ♥ ♥ ♥   - Love this polish so much.

I emailed Julep about my lost package and they were kind enough to mail me a replacement intro box at no additional charge! I am so appreciative of that. Best customer service! I haven't tried Blake or the scrub yet, but I'll do a proper review/swatch for those when I do. I still cannot believe this was just one penny. Take advantage while you can!

Tokyo Lifestyle store haulll

First buys of April! I'm absolutely obsessed with pa polishes after this.
(2 pa polishes in AA38 and AA36, 2 Kleancolor glitter stripers, 2 packs of Luxury Eyelashes, and a pair of pa bottom lashes)

Latest pa polish purchase and my current mani. Perfect for spring, and reminds me so much of bubblegum and cotton candy!
1 coat Sephora by O.P.I. Strengthener, 2 coats pa AA19, 1 coat Essie good to go topcoat
Photo taken with Instagram for Android! Even though it's super buggy on my G2.

While I'm at it, here's another mani I did using pa AA38 over a Butter London color.
Can you see the ugly artifacts of a previous photo at the top left?? Janky, riiiight? Instagram, why do you hate my rom. :(

I'll be swatching the other pa polishes soon. My favorite has to be AA36, a black jelly with pink sparkles!

Too Faced Vintage Sale Haul ♥

The long-ago promised Too Faced Vintage Sale haul pictures! I have such a backlog. Almost caught up, though. :) On to the photos!

This is how it came in the mail! Too Faced has such pretty packaging.

The Galaxy Glam baked eyeshadows I got, in Moon Beam, Super Nova, Deep Space, and Magenta Moon. Cutest packaging everrr. Made me want to buy them ALL. $3 each!!

Eye shadow duos in Sexpresso/Peach Fuzz and Beauty Mark. $6 each, I believe.

Sexpresso/Peach Fuzz is the only one I've opened so far. Isn't it pretty? :)

and just for fun, my entire Too Faced makeup collection :)
I love how pretty everything looks together, especially with my leopard print scarf!

Until next time!

No Julep for me...

I discovered yesterday that, although my Julep Maven penny box was delivered to my apartment building on Saturday morning, my apartment has lost the package containing my long-awaited nail polishes... I am so incredibly disappointed. :( I had really been looking forward to the polishes, especially since the pastel yellow color in the Boho Glam box would have been perfect for spring/Easter. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the package will somehow turn up within the week and I'll still be able to receive my penny box... I'm so sad!!!

I'm glad others were able to take advantage of the penny deal, though, at least. Please do let me know what you think of your boxes when they arrive to you! Leave a comment or something, if you will.

--

Oh, and Hautelook is having another Urban Decay sale. You can get the fake lashes set that I got in my February hauls post for $7 (+$5.95 shipping, I believe), rather than the $10 that I got mine for. :) Just thought I'd share.

Julep Maven for just ONE PENNY!

I have some exciting news! Julep Maven has an offer for first-time buyers to get their first (monthly) box for only $0.01! You are in no way obligated to buy any more boxes, since you can choose to only buy 1 box, 3 boxes, 6, or 12. Julep Maven is one of those monthly beauty subscriptions, but only if you want it to be, which for this deal, is really awesome!! I decided to try it out since, well....I've only got a penny to lose, haha. The code is COLOR2012. I'm really excited to get my Boho Glam box! It comes with 2 nail polishes (a grey and a pastel yellow) and I believe an exfoliating cream? For a penny....man this is a steal!

Here's the link again, if you want to check it out! Julep Maven at julep.com

Wow, this almost sounds like an advertisement...but believe me, it isn't! I'm posting this because I want to share this awesome deal with everyone. :)

Update:

I heard that, even if you choose to only get 1 box, you will be signed up for the monthly subscription. Make sure you cancel by April 24th if you don't want to be charged $19.99 for next month's box. Otherwise, this penny offer is totally valid~

February Hauls ♫

Near the end of February, I received 2 purchases from elf and the Urban Decay sale on Hautelook! Let's take a look~

From elf: studio retractable lip brush, liquid eyeliner in stardust, nail polish in nude, individual false lashes, studio complexion perfection/tone correcting powder compact, blending eye brush, and studio eyebrow treat & tame in ash.

Nail polish in Nude. After this, I definitely need even more nude laquers, haha.

I love how the eyelash glue comes in a bottle now instead of a tube! I wonder if it'll be easy to use, though.

Stardust looks awesome. Can't wait to layer it over all my liners.

Eyebrow Treat & Tame in Ash. Hopefully this will help my brow hairs match the filled in color as well as lighten them for when I do gyaru makeup, although it looks a bit dark in the tube...

Cheap, awesome mattifying and color-correcting powder compact for $3?! I'm down.

I love this! Great new studio brush. It's so handy and I think I'll be keeping this in my purse from now on since the cap will keep any product from getting onto the contents of my purse too. :)

I'm glad the bristles of the Essential line has gotten softer! But, this brush is pretty much the exact same as the Studio Contour brush. So I can't really get much use from it since I have the 15-piece Studio set. Maybe it'll go into a future giveaway. ;)

And finally.....

Urban Decay Urban Lash Kit!! At $10 a box, it was an absolute steal. It's still on sale at UD's website, so get it while you can! I have so many fake lashes but have never really used mascara on them since I like to keep them clean.. but I'm so excited to try the mascara with fake lashes! I still can't believe it was only $10. The mascara is $18 normally, the 24/7 pencil is apparently a travel-size so....I dunno...$6.40 ($32 for a set of 5 travel-size haha), and the lashes are normally $15. So seriously, that's a $39.40 value packed into a now-$10 set. I don't understand the business logic behind this but I'm not complaining lol! ♥

Stay tuned for another haul from Too Faced Vintage sale coming up~ x)
I'm such a shopaholic when it comes to makeup....
'Till next time, lovelies!

My everyday makeup bag

I'm totally procrastinating right now!

I don't know why I'm not working or sleeping right now, it's like 2:30am lol!
This has been my everyday makeup bag since about late 2009, but the products inside have changed a little bit since then. I feel like my current "everyday bag" is really more of an "eyeliner bag" haha. Man, some of these products are as old as from December 2008.... Or even earlier?!

Anwayyy, starting with pencil eyeliners... From left to right:
Sasa Retractable Glittering Eyeliner in 04 Gold (HK, Dec. 2008)
Estee Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil in 01 Softsmudge Black (GWP, 2011?)
Tokidoki Brilliante Glitter Eyeliner in Savana (Sephora, 2011)
Clinique cream shaper for eyes in 01 black diamond (GWP, 2010)
Hot Topic Lip/Eye Pencil in Red (Hot Topic, 2010)
NYX Eye/eyebrow pencil in 901 Black (Little Tokyo, 2009)
Lancome Le Crayon Khol in Black Ebony (GWP, 2011?)
Wet 'n Wild H2O Proof liner in black (Rite Aid, 2009)
Sephora eyes pencil in white (Sephora, 2009?)
Wet 'n Wild H2O Proof liner in brown (Rite Aid, 2009)

Liquid liners ♥ (top to bottom)
e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner in Midnight (e.l.f., Dec. 2010?)
Rimmel Get in Line liner in 600 Copper Brown (gifted, Nov. 2010)
e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black (e.l.f., 2009)
Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner pen in black (ordered by Shari, 2011)

Mascaras
Lancome Definicils in Black (GWP, 2009?)
Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara (Urban Decay, 2011)
Wet 'n Wild H2O Proof mascara in 896/brown (Rite Aid, 2009) - Actually might throw this one away soon ahaha

Eyeshadows
Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects eyeshadow quad (GWP, 2008?)
Revlon Colorstay Stick Shadow in 02 Beige (HK, Dec. 2008)
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese (Little Tokyo, 2009)

And then there's also some misc. items, like a Lancome blusher duo that was a gift from a friend, an e.l.f. concealer pencil in fair, an e.l.f. concealer pencil in medium (for easy-peasy contouring), a Shiseido lipstick in a gorgeous red color that I have barely ever used but is super old LOL, and a comb and some clips.

Can you believe all of that fits into that clear pencil case-sized bag?? I love it. And I love that if there's only one bag I can toss into my luggage at the last minute, it can be this tiny bag and I'm pretty much all set! :) Maybe I should add another lip product, though~ I've been seriously getting into lipsticks lately!

Until next time :)

Layering is My New Best Friend

Randomly felt inspired the other day, so here's my look from Lookbook:

Quite proud of this one! I was inspired by this picture:

I've been dying to try out this new high-low hem trend!! But alas, tying and tucking in shirts is the best I can do for now.

Speaking of Lookbook, I've embedded a Lookbook widget in my sidebar as well~ If you like my outfits, feel free to hype them. ;)

Chocolate Love

My boyfriend was awesome enough to take pictures for me, so, as promised, here are the chocolates I made for Valentine's Day!

White chocolate and dark/semi-sweet together is just so cute. ♥ But lolz at my ghetto wrapping...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! I just bought more makeup from E.L.F. and Hautelook's Urban Decay sale, so look forward to those posts coming up sometime in the next 2 weeks. :]
