Layering is My New Best Friend

Randomly felt inspired the other day, so here's my look from Lookbook:

Quite proud of this one! I was inspired by this picture:

I've been dying to try out this new high-low hem trend!! But alas, tying and tucking in shirts is the best I can do for now.

Speaking of Lookbook, I've embedded a Lookbook widget in my sidebar as well~ If you like my outfits, feel free to hype them. ;)

Chocolate Love

My boyfriend was awesome enough to take pictures for me, so, as promised, here are the chocolates I made for Valentine's Day!

White chocolate and dark/semi-sweet together is just so cute. ♥ But lolz at my ghetto wrapping...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! I just bought more makeup from E.L.F. and Hautelook's Urban Decay sale, so look forward to those posts coming up sometime in the next 2 weeks. :]

NotW: Year in Review

Happy New Year, everyone!!

For my NYE mani, I spontaneously decided to make my theme "a year in review" and have a blue and silver mani that incorporates the biggest trends (to me) from 2011, and also some random bling! :)
From left to right, there's: shatter polish, galaxy nails (my first try!), Nails Inc. 3D glitter nails, random silver nail, random glitter bling nail, random glitter bling nail #2, water marbling (another first for me!), another random bling/shatter nail, Nails Inc. magnetic polish, and, finally, another bling nail with my favoriteeee topcoat of this/last year (Flurry It Up by Sephora O.P.I.).
Yay being able to go to Sephora today to use their sample magnetic nail polish, since I don't personally own any. Sadpanda. :(

Here's some closeups!

Hope you all enjoyed! :)

NotW: Leopard Spots

Base color: Butter London Diamond Geezer
Gold spots: Sephora by O.P.I. Rumba Romance
Black: Wet 'n Wild Black

My first time doing the cheetah/leopard spot design and I really like it!! But my black polish started getting all dried and goopy halfway through, so I had to throw it out before I could draw spots onto my right hand's nails. :( Will buy a replacement today~

I think my ring finger looks the best. I just can't stop staring at my nails today... Whoever came up with this design should get a gold star. Or win the Internet. Or whatever. \o/

Rinoa Heartilly Makeup [Michelle Phan, I challenge you!]

Do I look like her, even a little bit? Haha~

Gah, holding my bangs up because they're getting too long!

Admittedly, I do watch Michelle Phan's videos and actually do learn some useful tips and tricks from her. However, I cannot say I am a fan of her "cosplay" makeup tutorials/videos. Especially her Hatsune Miku video...dear god that was a lower lash disaster.

So, I have decided to challenge her most recent FFVIII Rinoa makeup look with my own! I tried to follow Rinoa's official artwork and CG from creativeuncut.com as closely as possible. Perhaps that is something Michelle did not do? My biggest tip, and what I live by, for cosplay is to always, always do cosplay makeup while looking at a reference of the character!!

Unlike Michelle, I do not have a Rinoa cosplay I can just pull out of my closet, so I had to make do pretending my hair could somewhat look like Rinoa's... The second picture is the closest I could get it. |D

Closeup of the eye makeup. :]

Oh dear, I have not been taking care of my eyebrows as I should..

And finally, the makeup that I used!

Hey....it's the Dolly Wink eyeliner I got from Shari! ;)

Urban Decay Vegan palette Half-baked, Smog
Maybelline Fit Me! powder foundation in shade 325
Loreal Hip in Shady
bareMinerals eyebrow powder in medium brown
Sephora eyeshadow in aspen summit N°23
Smashbox highlight/cheek color in Golden Blossom
Wet 'n Wild H2O Proof pencil liner in black
NYX pencil liner in black
Dolly Wink liquid liner
Eye Charm double eyelid tape
Makoto-ltd brand eyelash glue
awesomely cheap eBay fake lashes

How successful do you think I was? Do you guys want a step-by-step tutorial? Leave me a comment! ♥
